hymn from Lamentations 3:22-23

Every morning mercies new fall fresh as morning dew;
Every morning let us pay tribute with the early day:
For Thy mercies, Lord, are sure; Thy compassion doth endure.

Still the greatness of Thy love daily doth our sins remove;
Daily, far as east from west, lifts the burden from the breast;
Gives un-bought to those who pray strength to stand in evil day.

Let our prayers each morning prevail, that these gifts may never fail;
And, as we confess the sin and the tempter's power within,
Every morning, for the strife, feed us with the Bread of Life.

As the morning light returns, as the sun with splendor burns,
Teach us still to turn to Thee, ever blessed Trinity,
With our hands our hearts to raise, in unfailing prayer and praise.

I'm excited to see your new blog develop. I'm sure it will show more of the lovely, creative young lady you are. It already looks great. I love you!

Fun new blog! So, a few questions.
1: Did you write that hymn? It's beautiful! If the answer is yes, it needs music, and you have musical siblings. Am I hinting enough? =)
2: Your miscellany list -- Books you're reading, or going to read this Summer? The Scarlet Pimpernel is one of my favorites. Excellent choice!

Thanks so much for telling me about this, Caity! You're very talented, and I love following your thoughts.

good questions. No I did not write the hymn. I found it in the hymnal while I was looking for a different song the other day. The words caught my eye and I thought I'd share. I am neither musical nor a poet.

The books are my favorites that I have already read. I did read the Scarlet Letter this summer. AMAZING book!

Oh, well good find! I'm glad you shared it. And the Scarlet Letter is another great book! I read it a long time ago, and probably didn't get as much out of it as I might have, so I should revisit it. Along with a million other books... =)
